Where did the 65 yr old bench mark come about? Occured in Germany--Captain Vanbismark, set the retirement at 65-he waned to concur Europe and most people did not live to be 65. Social security and Medicare also assisted with setting the bench mark of 65.
When does peak physical maturity occur? late 20's
When does the Peak psychosocial maturity occur? Older adulthood

Why do some age successfully and others don't? Inactivity, Boredom, Anticipated health decline-self fulfilling prophecy. These 3 factors predicted more than anything else that their hlth is worse.

What is a red flag that our body gives us when something is wrong? PAIN: If it hurts...Don't dismiss it. This is a sign and symptom that your body gives you to let you know something is wrong.
Describe Healthy People 2010? Healthy people 2010 focuses on leading health indicators for which measurable baseline and target levels have been established (e.g. mental health, phsycial activity, and access to quality health services.
Healthy People 2010 has 2 major goals. What are they? 1. Increase quality and years of healthy life 2. Eliminating health disparities.
Identify 4 types of health promotion interventions for OAs. Screening Programs, Risk Reduction interventions, Environmental Modifications; and Health Education to promote good health practices.
