QuestionAnswer
Plot The organized pattern or sequence of events that that make up the story.
Exposition This is the part of the story where the characters are introduced, along with the setting and conflict.
Conflict The dramatic struggle between two forces in a story
Rising Action This is the part of the story begins to develop and the conflict is trying to be solved
Climax The turning point in the story
Denouement/Resolution This the part of the story where the conflict is resolved. All loose ends are tied up.
1st person One of the characters is telling the story . The pronoun "I" is used.
3rd person Someone from outside the story is telling it. The pronoun "she" and "he" are used.
Protagonist The leading character or one of the main characters in the story.
Antagonist the person who actively opposes or is hostile to the main character.
Mood The general sense or feeling witch the reader is suppose to get from the text.
Tone The writer's attitude toward his or her subject.
Symbolism the use of specific objects or images to represent abstract ideas.
Foreshadowing A hint or clue about what will happen next
Person VS Person This type of conflict finds the main character in conflict with another character, human or non-human.
Person VS Nature This type of conflict finds the main character in conflict with the forces of nature , which serve as the Antagonist
Person VS society This type of conflict has the main character in conflict with a larger group: a community, society, culture, etc.
Person VS Self In this type of conflict, the main character experiences some kind of inner conflict or conflict or conflict with him or her self.
Theme Theme is the authors Message to the reader or lesson learned; it,s a statement about life or humanity.
