What are Lipids? lipids are better know as fats, but are specifically fatty acids, phospholipids and steroids.
What are fatty acids? Fatty acids are grouped into two categories. Saturated and unsaturated. Saturated fats contain no double bonds in their hydrocarbon tail. Conversely, unsaturated, unsaturated have one or more, therefore saturated is a solid whereas unsaturated is liqui
What are phospholipids? they are two fatty acids of varying length bonded to a phosphate group. The phosphate grp is charged and polar where the hydrocarbon tail is nonpolar.
What is a steroid? They are a component of membranes and a significant precursor to hormones.
What are proteins? they are the most important factor to cellular function. There are polymers of 20 molecules
What are amino acids? amino acids are the largest of biological molecules.The building blocks of life
