Math Vocab 6th Grade

review of vocabulary words

QuestionAnswer
the distance a number is from zero absolute value
a combination of operations, numbers, and/or variables that represents a value expression
positive whole numbers, negative whole numbers, and zero integer
having the same value or amount equivalent
an amount quantity
always positive because distance can't be negative absolute value
this has operations and numbers but NEVER has an equal sign = expression
not fractions; not decimals integer
when 2 or more numbers are represented differently but have the same meaning/value (like 1/2 = 0.5 = 50%) equivalent
tells you how much you have of something (something you can count!) quantity
