matter anything that takes up space and has mass
weight the amount that gravity ''pulls'' on a certain mass - measured in pounds and ounces
mass the amount of matter in an object or body -measured in grams
mass and weight weight depends on mass but mass doesn't depend on weight
states of matter {liquid} liquid- takes the shape of its container {atoms are packed together loosely}
states of matter {gas} gas-only takes the shape of a container if its trapped in {atoms are very free}
states of matter {solid} solid-has its own shape can change {atoms are tightly packed together}
volume the amount of space an object takes up *measured in cubic centimeters=cm3 * or liters milliliters mL Formula-l*w*h
