Setting | time and place in which a story occurs |
Mood | emotion created in the reader |
Tone | author's attitude towards a certain idea |
Simile | unlike comparison with like/as |
Diction | making use of a word's denotation, connotation, and sound to impact other literary features |
Metaphor | unlike comparison without like/as |
Personification | giving human qualities to animals or inanimate objects |
