QuestionAnswer
Commutative Property of Addition You can add numbers in any order 4+5=5+4
Commutative Property of Multiplication You can multiply factors in any order 5x4=20 4x5=20
Associative Property of Addition Changing the grouping of terms will not change the sum (10+7)+9= 10+(7+9)
Associative Property of Multiplication Grouping numbers in different orders results in the same product
Additive Inverse Adding a normal number with a negative number will equal zero 6+(-6)=0
Multiplicative Inverse The number multiplied by the reciprocal equals 1 5/1x1/5= 1
Additive Identity If u add zero to a number the answer will be the number you added to zero 7+0=7
Multiplicative Property of Zero Any thing multiplied by zero is zero 5x0=0
Substitution Property When a letter represents a number A=3 B=5. A+B=8
Distributive Property Each number inside the parenthesis is multiplied by the that is outside the parenthesis 8(10+4)
Multiplicative Identity If you multiply a number by 1 it will equal the number you multiplied 1 by 36x1=36
