| straight angle | an angle with 180° |
| degrees | a unit of measurement |
| right angle | an angle of 90° |
| ray | a line from a point that goes on forever in one direction from that point |
| acute angle | an angle of less than 90° |
| vertex | the intersection of two sides of a plane figure to form an angle |
| isosceles triangle | a triangle with two equal sides |
| obtuse angle | an angle greater than 90° but less than 180° |
| scalene triangle | a triangle with no equal sides |
| parallelogram | a quadrilateral having both pairs of opposite sides parallel to each other |
| rotation symmetry | when you rotate (or turn) a figure around a center point by fewer than 360° |
| reflection symmetry | two halves that are mirror-images of each other |
| regular polygon | a polygon which all angles are congruent and all sides have the same length |
| irregular polygon | have sides of differing lengths and angles of differing measure |
| parallel lines | are lines that never intersect |
| transversal | a line that passes through two or more lines |
| tiling | laying down shapes in a pattern |
| square | a rectangle having all four sides of equal length |
| rectangle | A parallelogram with four right angles. |
