base the number that is used as a factor, when written in exponential form.
composite number is a whole number greater than 1 with more than two factors.
divisible is when the first number can be divided by the second number with a remainder of 0.
exponent tells how many times a number, or base, is used as a factor.
factor is a whole number that divides another whole number with a remainder of 0.
formula is a rule that shows the relationship between two or more quantities.
greatest common factor is the greatest number that is a factor of all the numbers.
least common denominator is the least common multiple (LCM) of the denominator
least common mutliple is the smallest number that is a multiple of both numbers.
multiplicative inverse the reciprocal of a number
power is a number that can be expressed using a base and an exponent.
prime factorization writing a composite number as the product of its prime factors.
prime number is a whole number with exactly two factors 1 and the number itself.
rational number is any number written as a quotient of two integers where the denominator is not 0.
reciprocals two numbers if their product is 1.
relatively prime a fraction is in simplest form
scientific notation is a number if the first factor is greater than or equal to 1 and less than 10, and the second factor is a power of 10.
