### Lesson 2.4: Variables and Equations

Define equation. A mathematic statement that contains an equal sign.
Define open sentence. An equation that contains a variable(s).
Name the three types of equations. Equations are either true, false, or open.
How do you check a solution? A number is a solution of an equation if the number makes the equation true.
