asunto subject, issue Ellos rehúsan hablar sobre ese asunto. They refuse to talk about that subject (issue). El asunto a tratar en la próximo reunión es muy serio. The issue to be discussed in the next meeting is very serious.
subjeto subject, individual En español el sujeto del verbo puede quedar implícito. In Spanish the subject of the verb can be left out. La policía arrestó a un jujeto muy peligroso. The police arrested a very dangerous individual.
materia subject, basic element or component. En la secundaria estudiamos varias materias interesantes, tales como historia, literatura y lenguas. In high school we studied many interesting subjects, such as history, literature, and languages.
