What is theme? The big idea or lesson the author wants the reader to know.
What does it mean to visualize? To use text details to form pictures in your mind-
What is a suffix? An affix at the end of a word that changes its meaning-
What is an affix? A suffix or prefix attached to a base word, stem, or root that changes the meaning of the word-
What is a base word? The word to which prefixes and/or suffixes are added-
What is the meaning of the suffix -ly? In a certain way-
What is the meaning of the suffix -ful? Full of-
What does a singular noun name? This type of noun names one person, place, or thing.
What does a plural noun name? This type of noun names more than one person, place, or thing.
What does a collective noun name? This type of noun names a group of people, animals, or things that act as a unit.
What are sensory details? Language that strongly appeals to the five senses-
What is point of view? The position from which the narrator views its subjects and from which the story is told-
