Atom smallest part of matter properties of an element
Element A substance one of a kind of atom-can not be broken down to similar ordinary means
Nucleus center of an atom which protons and neutrons-has a positive charge
Protons positive found in the nucleus of an atom
Neutron No change found in the nucleus of an atom
A shell space outside nucleus electrons orbit
Electron negative particle atom that orbits the nucleus.
Atomic # The number of protons(electrons) in and atom- it is used to identify an element.
Atomic Mass The mass of the nucleus- it is the number of protons plus the number of neutrons.
