Chem Chap 21 Sec 1

The Nucleus

Atomic nuclei are made up of protons and neutrons
Atomic nuclei are made of protons and neutrons, which are collectively called nucleons.
In Nucleus Chemistry an atom that is identified by the number of protons and neutrons in its nucleus is called nuclide
In the symbol 228/88Ra what is the superscript and the subscript meant the superscript is the mass number and the subscript is the atomic number
The same nuclide 228/88Ra can also be written as radium-228, where the mass number is written following the element name.
