| Synthesis | the forming or building of a more complex substance or compound from elements or simpler compounds. |
| Decomposition | the separation of a chemical compound into elements or simpler compounds. |
| Single Replacement | Occurrence of two different cations switch places to combine with the same anion |
| Double Replacement | a chemical reaction where two reactant ionic compounds exchange ions to form two new product compounds with the same ions. |
