QuestionAnswer
Personification Giving human qualities to an animal, object, or idea. (i.e. the tree whispered in the wind)
Rhyme Repetition of sounds in the end of words
Rhythm Pattern of stressed and unstressed syllables that created a beat
Symbol A person, place, object or action that stands for something beyond itself (i.e. the bald eagle is a symbol of the United States, or the color white symbolizes purity and innocence)
Theme A message about life or human nature that is conveyed by piece of literature, what the author wants the reader to learn while reading.
Tone the writer's attitude toward what they are writing about.
Fact a piece of information that can be proven or verified.
Idiom an expression different from the literal meaning of the words (i.e. hit the lights means turn the light off, not punch the lights)
Subjective influenced by feelings and personal experience, not on fact (i.e. bitten by dog, all dogs are evil)
Opinion a personal point of view
