Steps to estimate computations using rounding 1. Round each number to the newest integer 2. use the rounded numbers to complete computation
Steps to estimate using compatible numbers 1. Adjust numbers in computation to similar numbers that compute easily together 2. Compute the adjusted numbers mentally
Steps To multiply numbers containing decimals 1. Write the problem vertically; line up the digits right to left (do not line up the decimals) 2. Multiply normally 3. Insert decimals in the answer as many decimal places as there are in the problem
Steps to divide numbers containing decimals 1. Set up division box with the divisor on the outside, and the number being divided on the inside 2. Only divide by a whole number 3. Move the decimal of th enumber being divided . Bring the decimal straight up 5. Divide normally
