Balancing Chemical Equations? --- chemical reaction produces new substances by changing the way in which atoms are arranged. In a chemical equation, atoms CAN NOT be created or destroyed, but the bonds of molecules can be broken.

What are the Steps? 1. Identify elements on reactant side 2. Count # of atoms for elements 3. Identify elements on product side 4. Count # of atoms on product side 5. Are the 2 sides equal?
