What does veto mean in Latin?   In Latin, it means "I forbid!"

What was the Tribunes of the Plebs?   A group of 10 plebeians that could reject laws (yelled out "I forbid!")

What was the Council of the Plebs?   A group of 10 plebs who was elected by plebs to make laws for plebs only.

What were the 12 tables?   A set of 12 wooden tablets where all the laws were written on.

What was the Separation of Powers?   When the power is divided so no one was too powerful.

What is an empire?   A large (usually growing) land area made up of a diverse population ruled by one person ( emperor).
