VOCABULARY BATHROOM

TermDefinition
Soap A substance that you use with water for washing your body
Toothpaste A substance that you put on a brush and use to clean your teeth
Shampoo A liquid soap that is used for washing your hair; a similar liquid used for cleaning carpets, furniture covers or a car
Comb A flat piece of plastic or metal with a row of thin teeth along one side, used for making your hair neat
Dental floss A type of thread that is used for cleaning between the teeth
Sink A large open container in a bathroom that has taps/faucets to supply water and that you use for washing your hands in
Toilet A large bowl attached to a pipe that you sit on or stand over when you get rid of waste matter from your body
Hairbrush A brush for making the hair tidy or smooth
Toilet paper Thin soft paper used for cleaning yourself after you have used the toilet
Lipstick A substance made into a small stick, used for colouring the lips; a small stick of this substance
Towel A piece of cloth or paper used for drying things, especially your bod
Bath A large, long container that you put water in and then get into to wash your whole body
Toothbrush A small brush for cleaning your teeth
Razor An instrument that is used for shaving
Plug hole A hole in a bath/ bathtub, sink, etc. where the water flows away and into which a plug fits
Shower A piece of equipment producing a spray of water that you stand under to wash yourself; the small room or part of a room that contains a shower
Faucet A device that controls the flow of water from a pipe
Mirror A piece of special flat glass that reflects images, so that you can see yourself when you look in it
Hair dryer A small machine used for drying your hair by blowing hot air over it
Hand dryer A small machine used for drying your hand by blowing hot air over it
Plug A small plastic object with two or three metal pins that connects a piece of electrical equipment to the main supply of electricity
Nail clippers A small tool for cutting the nails on your fingers and toes
