Metaphor | Compares two things by saying one this is another |

Sensory Poem | Poem of similes and metaphors, stating emotions using your senses |
Couplet | Two lines with rhyming words |
Triplets | Have three lines with a rhyming pattern of AAA or ABA |
Quatrains | Four lines with a rhyming pattern of AABB or ABAB |
Limerick | The first two lines and the last two lines rhyme together and are longer. The middle two lines rhyme with each other and are shorter. |
Haiku | Traditional Japanese poems that reflect observations of nature |
