Plural Noun | names MORE THAN ONE person, place, thing, or idea |
Possessive Nouns | shows ownership or relationship; use an ' to show possession |
Singular Possessive Noun | add -'s |
Possessive Plural Noun ending in -s | add -' |
Possessive Plural Noun NOT ending in -s | add -'s |
Subject | who or what the sentence is about |
Predicate Noun | found after a helping verb and renames or defines the noun |
Direct Object | names the receiver of the action verb; answers the question what or whom |
Indirect Object | tells to whom or to what, or for whom or for what |
Object of Preposition | shows relationship between the noun and another word; usually answers "where?" |
