what are some stimuli for a first breath cord obstruction, temperature change, physical stimulation
how is the resting lung volume established first breaths push fluid from airway and alveoli
step one dry and cover
step two assess tone colour breathing and HR
Airway position? obstruction? ??jaw thrust??
Breathing 5 inflation breaths sustained for 2-3sec @ 30cm water pressure
if chest not moving recheck head, consider spO2, repeat inflations, consider two person airway control
heart rate if > 100 and not breathing, ventilate at 30 breaths/min, <60, 3 compressions/breath
heartrate persistanly low drugs; bicarbonate, adrenaline, dextrose
