media | different ways people communicate with others, such as newspaper, television, radio, and the internet |
authorship | the origin of a piece of work; usually the person or people who constructed it |
format | the way a communication is presented; each type has a unique set of creative tools and techniques to help form the message |
audience | the people who reciever a communication; different people understand the message in different ways |
content | a message or message in a particular communication; some of these are embedded values and ideas |
purpose | the reason a communtication is made; might be informing, persuading, selling, entaining or a combination |
influence | to cause someone to believe or feel something |
construct | deliberatley create a message |
deconstruct | deliberatley examine a message to understand the whole meaning |
embedded | assumptions made about values, attitudes, and points of view that are important but not alaways obvious parts of a media message |
fact | something that can be proven to be true or not |
opinion | something that someone believes but isn't necessarily true for everyone |
verify | to examine something to make sure it is true or not |
true | something that can be shown to be real |
false | something that can be shown to be not real |
message | a piece of communication between people |
internet | a communication system that connects computers all over the world; also known as the web |
expert | someone who has studied a great deal about a particular subject |
misinformation | information that is not a fact but that appears to be a fact; sometimes done on purpose |
blog | a type ogf websirte where people (even kids!) write about things that interest them |
