Origin of Trapezius external occipital protuberance, medial portion of superior nuchal line of the occiput, ligamentum nuchae, spinous processes of C-7 through T-12
Insertion of Trapezius Lateral one third of clavicle, acrominon, spine of the scapula
Action of bilateral upper fibers of Trapezius extend the head and neck
Action of unilateral upper fibers of Trapezius laterally flex the head and neck to the same side, rotate the head and neck to the opposite side, elevate the scapula, upwardly rotate the scapula
Action of middle fibers of Trapezius adduct the scapula, stabilize the scapula
Action of lower fibers of Trapezius depress the scapula, upwardly rotate the scapula
