reasons for growing spirit of democracy reformers wanted to spread suffrage and more people were turning up to vote in elections
suffrage suffrage is the righ to vote by law, citizens were eager to participate in elections while the USA was rapidly growing and the states were joining the union
change in voting rights in the east most eastern states dropped the requirement that you had to own land to vote
limits on suffrage the people who did not gain suffrage were: women, Native Americans and black people
Election of 1824 canidates: John Quincey Adams, Henery Clay and Andrew. Adams and Clay were accused of the corrupt bargain, this was when clay urged people to vote for Adams b/c if Adams became president, he would name Clay Secreatry of State, result:Adams and Clay S.S.S.
adams economic plan economic growth, strong federal goverment and to improve the city's infastructure: roads, buildings etc.
results of the election of 1828 Adams won his presidency and the corrupt bargain was dropped
whigs wanted to help stimulate the economy and were supporters of Adams and his program
democrats frontiersman and eastern factory workers who supported Jackson
caucus system a group of party members who met to discuss and choose the a presidential canidates
Nominating Convention where delagates from all the states met and chose the party's canidates for the election
