Pricing for $400 - A PBM contract sets reimbursement at AWP + $3.50. If the AWP is $44.95 per 100 tablets, what would the reimbursement for 30 tablets be? AWP + $3.50 = $44.95 / 100 = 0.4495 per tablet x 30 = $13.485 + $3.50 = 16.985 or $17.00
Pricing for $600 - If the Pharmacy pricing formula is AWP + $4.50 and the AWP is $90 / 100, what is the charge to the customer for a prescription for 30 tablets? AWP + $4.50 = $90 / 100 = 0.9 x 30 = $27.00 + $4.50 = $31.50
Pricing for $800 -The cost of 100 tablets of a particular drug is $1.50, what would the dispensing charge have to be to yield a 40% gross profit? $1.50 x 40% = 0.60 + 1.50 = $2.10
Pricing for $1000 - If the Pharmacy pricing formula is the AWP - 12% + $3.00 dispensing fee, and the AWP is $60.00 / 90, what would the charge to the customer for a prescription for 30 tablets? AWP - 12% + $3.00 = $60 / 90 = 0.67 x 30 = $20.10 - 12% = $17.69 + $3.00 = $20.69
