Loess Yellowish-brown soil that is blown into the Huang He/Yellow River from the Gobi Desert
Mandate of Heaven Divine right of rule in China; When a dynasty lost the mandate, rebellion was justified
Code of Hammurabi Set of uniform laws developed by King Hammurabi of Babylon (Mesopotamia) & posted throughout the kingdom; Considered the first set of written codified laws
