IZOF Model

What does IZOF mean? Focuses on describing, predicting, explaining and regulating performance-related psychobiosocial states.
What is the emphasis on in the IZOF model? Subjective emotional experiences (emotions, feelings, mood, affect)
What kind of approach is Individual? Idiographic- patterns, structure and functions of idiosyncratic emotional experiences.
What is the unit of analysis of the Individual part? The individual within the context of a competitive sport.
What is the notion of Zone in the IZOF model central for? Understanding, assessing and optimizing an individual's emotional state and performance process.
The Zone principle implies a specific relationship between...? Perceived intensity of optimal and dysfunctional emotional states, and quality of performance.
Optimal emotions are defined as...? Emotions most relevant and appropriate for an athlete under specific conditions.
What does Optimal performance state usually provide, and what does it result in? Provides best internal conditions, total involvement in the task and best possible recruitment of resources. Results in a hgh quality performance process and achievement of successful performance outcomes.
