Define: Nonpoint source pollution Answer: Hard to identify. Ex: salt applied to icy roads, cow manure, and fertilizers. These all become nonpoint source pollution problems when it rains.
Define: Stormwater runoff Answer: Rainwater that runs over the land, picks up nonpoint source pollutants, and eventually ends up in our streams and lakes.
Define: Water Resources Answer: All of the ponds, lakes, streams, rivers, and wetlands in an area.
Define: Watershed Answer: All of the land area which drains to a particular body of water.
Define: Hydrologic cycle Answer: The process by which the water in our enviroment is constantly recycled and purified.
Define: Evaporation Answer: The water is changed from liqid to gas by heat.
Define: Condensation Answer: The water is gas to liqid/solid by cooling
Define: Precipitation Answer: The condenced water falls to earth as rain or snow.
Define: Transpiratation Answer: The process by which pants release water throgh their leaves.
