Why does the pt empty their bladder before an examination? Exam easier and more comfortable for the pt/prevent urinary incontinence
Process of measuring the pt Mensuration
An instrument for examining the interior of the eye Opthalmoscope
An instrument for examining the external ear canal and tympanic membrane Otoscope
Palpation are used where Breast exam and organs in abdominal cavity
An instrument for opening a body orifice or cavity for viewing Speculum
To examin a male pt penis in what position Dorsal recumbent
Examine a female pt vaginal area in what position Lithotomy
Insert rectal enema or take a rectal temp in what position Sims
Sitting with legs hanging off the side of the table is what position Sitting
Laying down on back facing upward is what position Supine
Laying on back, knees in air, feet on table is what position Dorsal recumbent
Laying on back and feet in stirrups is what position Lithotomy
45 degree lay back, still sitting is what position Fowlers
Laying on belly is what position Prone
Laying on side, top leg and arm forward, bottom arm back is what position Sims
