Tibialis Anterior Origin:upper 2\3 lateral Tibia and Interosseous Membrane. Insertion:1st Cuneiform & base of 1st Metatarsal. Nerve: Deep Peroneal. Action:dorsiflexes foot @ ankle, inverts foot.
Extensor Digitorum Longus Origin:upper 2/3 fibula and Interosseous Membrane. Insertion:4 tendons-distal middle phalanges. Nerve: deep Peroneal L4,L5,S1. Action:Extends toes2-5, Dorsiflexes foot at ankle.
Extensor Halicus Longus Origin:middle 1/3 of anterior Fibula. Insertion:base of distal phalanx of big toe.Nerve: Deep peroneal. Action:Extends big toe. Dorsiflexes and inverts (supination) foot @ ankle.
Peroneus Tertius Origin:Distal Fibula. Insertion:base of 5th metatarsal. Nerve:Deep Peroneal L4,L5,S1. Action:Dorsiflexes and everts foot @ ankle.
Extenser Halicus Brevis Origin: Dorsal Calcaneus. Insertion: Big Toe.Nerve: Deep Peroneal L5,S1. Action:extends the big toe.
Peroneus Longus Origin:upper 1/2 lateral Fibula. Insertion:1st metatarsal and 1st cuniform. Nerve:superficial peroneal.Action:plantar flexion & eversion.
Peroneus Brevis Origin: lateral diastal Fibula. Insertion:5th metatarsal tuberosity. Nerve:superficial peroneal. Action:plantar flexion, eversion.
soleus Origin:upper shaft of Fibula. Insertion:calcaneus via Achilies Tendon. Nerve:Tibial. Action:plantar flexes the foot.
Flexor digitorum Longus Origin:middle 1/3 of posterior Tibia. Insertion:base of distal phalanx of lateral 4 toes. Nerve:Tibial. Action:flexes phalanges2-5; plantarflexes foot.
Flexor Halicus Longus Origin:middle 1/3 of posterior Tibia. Insertion:distal phalanx of big toe. Nerve:Tibial. Action:flexes all joints of the big toe, plantar flexion of the ankle joint.
Tibialis Posterior Origin:Posterior upper Tibia, Fibula. Insertion:Navicular Bone & 1st Cuniform. Nerve: Tibial L5,S1. Action:inverts and planter flexes foot.
Popliteus Origin:upper posterior Tibia. Insertion:lateral condyle of Femur. Nerve:Tibial(L4,L5,S1).Actionflexes and medially rotates leg @ knee.
Flexor Digitorum Brevis Origin:Calcaneus. Insertion:medial Phalanges of lateral 4 toes.Nerve:Medial Plantar. Action:Flexes lateral 4 toes.
Abductor Hallicus Origin: Calcaneus. Insertion:medial proximal phalanx of big toe. Nerve: Medial Plantar. Action:abducts big toe.
Abductor Digiti Brevis Origin:Calcaneus. Insertion:lateral proximal phalanx of big toe.Nerve:lateral plantar,S1,S2. Action:spreads 5th toe away from 4th toe.
Quadratus Plantae Origin:lateral ans medial side of Calcaneus. Insertion:Tendons of flexor Digitorum Longus. Nerve:lateral Plantar. Action:assists flexor digitorum longus in flexion of DIP joints.
Lumbricals Origin:tendons of flexor digitorum longus.Insertion:extensor tendons of toes.Nerve:Medial/Lateral Plantar S3. Action:flexes metatarsopharangeal joints,extends interphalangeal joints.
Flexor Halicus Brevis Origin: Cuboid Bone. Insertion:splits on base of proximal phalanx of big toe. Nerve:Medial Plantar.Action:flexes big toe.
Flexor Digiti Minimi Brevis Origin: base of 5th metacarpal. Insertion:base of proximal phalanx of little toe. Nerve:Lateral Plantar. Action:flex and adduct the pinky toe.
Abductor Hallicus Origin:metatarsals2-4. Insertionbase of big toe. Nerve:lateral plantar. Action:abducts big toe.
Interossei Origin:sides of metatarsal bones. Insertion:base of 1st phalanx and extensor tendons. Nerve:lateral plantar. Action: Abducts toes.
