Middle East- 9/11- the attack of the twin towers by the Al Qaeda terrorist group via suicide bombing
Osama in Afghan- the leader of the Al Qaeda terrorist group and he was responsible for the attack of 9/11, the U.S. gave him help a few years ago and gave him weapons and money, this turned out bad
Saddam Hussein- The U.S. also helped him with weapons and money and he was the President of Iraq for over 30 years
Vietnam War- this was between the North and the South of Vietnam, with the U.S. helping the south and the Russians helping the north, all of these connect because it is the U.S. fighting Russia
Conscientious Objectors this is the appeal of going into the war with claims based on religion and freedom, kids used this to avoid the draft
Student Protests- this was when the students protested the war by going to places and picketing with signs and such, some got violent and this was mostly so they didn’t have to go to the war
Moon Landing- this was the first time that anybody landed on the mo on and Neil Armstrong did it in 1969 and put an American flag up on the moon.
Counter culture- change between the U.S. and U.K.people were being hippies, smoking. also includes the fighting of the cold war and the space race between Russia and the U.S, this relates to sputnik and moon landing this is all the space race.
Sputnik- this was the Russian man operated spacecraft that went around the 1960s, there were three of them and the first went up in 1959 to orbit the earth

NASA the national space administration and it is the science behind all of the moon landings and such, it was hooked with counter culture because the organization was fighting to beat the russians to the moon. It was formed two years before the 60s in 1958.
Cold War- This was the war between the U.S. and the Russians but it was all talk and no fighting, the space race was with this as they were both trying to be the first into space
