Why were there debates on states rights? There were oposing views of slavery.
Who won the battle of vicksburg? The union, taking control of the mississippi river gave them an advantege and split the south in half.
Who won the battle of gettys burg, which was the turning point in the war? The union/north.
Robert E. Lee did what for the confederate army? He was the war general.
Ulysses S. Grant did what for the union army? He was the war general.
Who was the 16th president,during the civil war? Abraham Licoln.
Who was the president for the conferdeate states of america? Jefferson Davis.
What is the Gettysburg adress. A speech givin by Licoln after the battle of gettysburg.
What did Licoln and andrew jackson have in common? They wanted to uphold union soldiers that died in the war.
What was the fudgitive slave act? It allowed runaway slaves to be captured and sent back to the south.
What did the north have? Factories.
What did the south have? Plantations.
What is the 13th amendment? It abolished slavery.
What is the 14th amendment? It gave civil rights to slaves.
What is the 15th amendment? It gave slaves voting rights.
What was the dred scott case? It said that slaves who moved to the north were not free and they were still property of the south.
What is a abolistionist? A person against slavery.
Who wrote uncle toms cabin? Harriate beecher stowe.
What was the book, uncle toms cabin about? It stated that slavery was bad and that the south should get rid of it.
