Necator americanus and Ancylostoma duodenate Causes iron deficiency anemia, spread by=skin penetration by infective larvae, Location=Small Intestine
Strongyloides stercoralis (Threadworm) Causes Strongyloidiasis (severe cases cause pneumonia and diarrhea), spread by=skin penetration by infective larvae, Location=Small intestine(adult) General Tissue(larvae)
Ascaris lumbricoides Causes MOST COMMON INFECTION, worms passed in stool or vomited, heavy infestations causes pneumonitis and intestinal obstruction, Location=small intestine, spread by=egg ingestion
Wuchereria bancrofti Causes Filariasis which can lead to elephantiasis, spread by=mosquitoes (culex, aedes, and anopheles), Location=lymphatics
Trichuris trichuris Causes Trichuriasis (silent infection, GI problems), spread by=egg ingestion, Location=Large Intestine
Trematodes Type of flukes, flat, leaf shaped, ventral and oral sucker, no body cavity, SNAIL=intermediate host

Schistosoma japonicum and Schistosoma mansoni Causes Schistosomiasis aka Bilharzia aka Blood Fluke (ascites), spread by=penetration of skin by larvae, Location=Intestine
Fasciola hepatica Causes Fascioliasis (jaundice, enlarged tender liver, anorexia), spread by ingesting vegetation w/ larval stages, Location=Liver
