In 1801, white settlers began to move onto land promised to Native Americans in treaties by the government in the Ohio River Valley.
Tecumseh wanted the British to back his tribe so the whites would not move onto anymore Indian land.
Tecumseh wanted an united Indian Confederation of all the tribes.

the Embargo of 1807 caused Britain to just trade with other countries instead of the U.S..
While France and Britain were at war in 1803, America made a large profit from foriegn trading with both countries.
Britain did not depend on American agriculture like America thought it did in 1807. Britain could get what it needed from other countries.
