Explain how Jackson recieved the most electoral college and popular votes but lost the eletion of 1824? he did not receive a majority of the electoral college. according to the 12th ammendment the house of representatives then pick the president and they pick the president and they chose John Q. Adams
Why did Americans think that a "corrupt bargain" was arranged by Adamn and Clay? Clay supported Adams in the house of Representatives and after Adams was president Clay became the Secretary of State.
How did 2 parties form during the election of 1828? People supported both Adamn and Jackson. Adams supporters became Republicans and Jacksons supporters became Democrats.
What campaign practices of 1828 are still used today? Mudslinging,Buttons,Posters,Election Slogans
Explain how Andrew Jackson was an american hero. People related to him because he wasn't rich like other politicians and he was a war hero.
Describe why Andrew Jackson had an appeal to the common man. He was an American success story.
Explain voting requirements before Jackson's presidency and how suffrage was expanded. Only people who own land could vote. Jackson wanted to make sure the all people could vote regardless if they were rich or poor.
