Alkylating Agents Meds. | Cytoxan, cisplatin, carboplatin, ifex luekeran (oral). |
Why should Ifex be given with a rescue agent, ex. Mesnex? | Ifex should never be given alone, mesnex prevents severe urinary system problems and hemmorhagic cystitis. |
Antimetabolites | Interferes with synthesis of DNA to RNA at the "S" phase of the cell cycle.- Prevent cancer cells from reproducing. |
Cancers that are Rxed Antimetabolites | Colon/rectum/stomach, liver, breast and ovarian, lymphoma/leukemia, bladder |
S.E. - Antimetabolites | Bone Marrow Destruction, N/V, hyperuricemia, GI blood, oral breakdown. |
