What is an Atom ? The building blocks of matter. The smallest unit of an object or an element
Describe what matter is Anything that has mass and occupies space/volume
What are 3 subatomic particles atoms are made of ? Protons, Neutrons, and Electrons
What is an Electron ? A negatively charged particle (-) found spinning around the neucleus of an atom
What is a neutron ? The subatomic particle of the atom that has no charge (0)and is found in the atom's nucleus .
What is a Proton ? A positavely charged (+) particle that is part of an atom's nucleus.
What is an Element ? Matter that is composed of of only one type of atom, like GOLD.
What is a molecule ? A combination of atoms that are bound together by a bond. When atoms combine into molecules, they make something brand new.
What is found in the nucleus of an atom ? Protons and Neutrons
What happens whaen an atom is split or broken open ? A huge amount of radiation is released.
What is the periodic Table of elements?
