What was sharecropping? a system under which landowners exchanged land for labor, allowing freedmen to farm the land in exchange for part of the crops
How did sharecropping affect the freedmen? Although it did allow them a little independence, it kept most in constant debt and poverty.
What is another name for the Bureau for Refugees, Freedmen and Abandoned Lands? The Freedmen's Bureau
Who did the Freedmen's Bureau help? all people in the South in need, especially the poor freedmen.

What was the KKK? The Ku Klux Klan was a terrorist group that used violence and intimidation to keep African Americans down.
