Infection of skin and subcutaneous tissue is called cellulitis

Ringworm is: A fungal skin infection charcterized by a red, raised, round or oval scaling area with a clear center wich creates a ring appearance
Athletes foot is: A contagious superficial foot fungas characterized by skin discoloration and a ridge of red tissue.

Wart is: Due to HPV and is a small benign mass resulting from hyperplasia?
Verruca is a : Wart
Are warts an absolute contraindication? yes
Cold sore is: A highly contagious viral infection that appears as and oral lesion and is caused by the herpes simplex virus.
A dermatome is: an area of skin innervated by a spinal nerve.
What condition presents itself as painful groups of vesicles in bandlike patterns along affected dermatomes resulting from reactivation of the varicella-zoster virus? shingles
Is massage contraindicated for a client with chickenpox. yes until completly recovered

For a client with eczemza you should adjust pressure and avoid areas of broken skin.

Scleroderma is an auto immumne disorder characterised by overproduction of collagen that affects the skin and internal organs (the skin appears hard and shiny)

ICHTHYOSIS VULGARIS IS: Group of disorders that cause disruption of skin cell generation and removal.
A highly contagious parasite typically found in hair and are diagnosed with the presence of nits on the hair shaft? Lice

Scabies are often found in the creases of skin
Bruises are contraindicated until they turn a greenish or yellow color or if gentle presure is painful.

Massage for a client with a burn is locally contraindicated in all degrees until the affected are is completely healed
Tearing, thinning or overstretching of the skin that begins as red to pink stripes and fades to a silvery white is stretch marks
When massaging stretch marks it is best to use lighter than normal pressure
Random, poorly organized and may cause loss of function scar tissue
Keliod is an irregular-shaped, elevated scar that grows beyond the boundries of the original wound.
What is the best way to treat adhesions from scar tissue? using myofascial release and friction only after the affected area has completely healed.
What is a thickening of the skin on the top or sides of toes called? Corn
How do you treat a client with calluses on the feet? avoid the affected area if painful
What kind of ulcer is caused by lack of blood supply to an area of sustained pressure Decubitus Ulcer
How do you treat a client diagnosed with actnic keratosis or premalignant skin conditions? Avoid area due to tenderness and possible malignancies.
