Term | Definition |

Fertilization | The process when male and female reproductive parts join together. |
Leaf | The part of a plant that makes food using air, light, and water. |
Pollination | The transfer of pollen in flowers or cones. |
Reproduction | To have young, or more living things of the same kind. |
Root | A plant part that is usually underground and absorbs water and minerals from the soil. |
Seed | The part of a plant that contains a new plant. |
Spore | A reproductive structure of some plants, such as mosses and ferns, that can form a new plant. |
Stem | The part of a plant that holds it up and has tubes that carry water, minerals, and nutrients through the plant. |
External Structures | Those parts on the outside of a body or structure. |
Internal Structures | Those parts on the inside of a body or structure. |
Organ | A body part that is made of smaller parts that work together to do a certain job. |
Organ System | A group of organs that work together to do a job for the body. |
Receptors | Special structures that send information about the environment from different parts of the body to the brain. |
