Force of Motion

TermDefinition
Gravity the force by which a planet or other body draws objects toward its center
Mass the amount of matter or substance that makes up an object
Weight a measure of the gravitational force with which an object is drawn to the center of a massive second object

pull when you use force to move a thing (object) closer to you
friction Friction is the resistance of motion when one object rubs against another.
mass Mass is the amount of matter or substance that makes up an object

motion Motion is the process of an object moving or being moved
inertia inertia is an object at rest will remain at rest, and an object in motion will remain in motion, unless some outside force starts or stops the object.
speed Speed is how fast something is moving
position A position is the point where something is located, as on a map, or the posture it's arranged in
axis An axis is an imaginary line an object turns around
unbalanced force unbalanced force is When one force is greater than another, the forces are not balanced
acceleration Acceleration is the rate of change of velocity, or how fast an object or person speeds up
direction A direction is the line or course along which something moves, lies, or points.
