What is foreign direct investment? Investment made by a foreign company in the economy of another country.

what is gentrification? Process of changing an urban neighborhood from predominantly low-income renter to midle -class owner.
what is the Primate city rule? A pattern of settlements of a country, the largest settlement has more than twice as many people as the second-ranking settlement.
What is primate city? Largest settlement in a country, if it has has more than twice as many people as the second-ranking settlement.
what is the rank size rule? A pattern of settlements in a country, such that the Nth largest settlement is 1/N the population of the largest settlement.
what is red lining? A process by which banks draw lines on a map and refuse to lend money to purchase or improve property within the boundaries.
What is threshold? The minimum number of people needed to support the service.
