Funnel device that helps transfer liquids into another container
Petri Dish shallow transparent dish used for cell cultures
Syringe a pump that uses a plunger in a tight tube to dispense liquids
Pipette a slender graduated tube used to measure or move a small amount of liquid
Analytical Balance an extremely accurate balance to measure the mass of an object up to .00001 grams
Digital Scale an instrument that measures weight using electronic sensors
Test Tube a small glass tube with one closed end used in scientific experiments to hold, heat, or mix liquids
Dropper a small glass tube that has a rubber end which you squeeze to collect liquid into the tube
Spatula a scientific device used to mix, scrape, and complete other tasks involving the transferring of materials
Autoclave used to sterilize materials through the process of heat/steam sterilization, using high pressure/temperature
Microscope an optical instrument used to view very small objects through a magnified lens
Microscope Slide a thin flat piece of glass to hold small objects for examination under a microscope
Microscope Slide Cover a very thin flat piece of glass less than one millimeter thick placed over a specimen to keep it in place while being observed in a microscope
Collection Jar a container used to collect specimens
Distilled Water a liquid that has been purified of both contaminants and minerals
Kim Wipes specifically designed wipes to gently clean liquid and dust from optic lenses
Spectrophotometer a device that measures the amount of light absorbed by a sample at different lengths
Cuvette a tube-like containers made out of optically clear glass; used as the testing containers for spectrophotometer.
Crucible a container made from incredibly heat resistant material (such as porcelain) used for melting a substance that needs a high degree of heat.
Weigh Boat open container, often used for weighing samples
Desiccator used for storage of dry objects that must not be exposed to moisture
Thermometer an instrument used to measures the temperature
Stir Plate a container/tool used to mix liquid
Stir Rod an instrument used to mix liquids and solids
Hot Plate a flat surfaced instrument with heating elements
Fume Hood a ventilated area to contain and exhaust fumes, airborne particles, and odors
Incubator heated boxes that maintain a set temperature and humility to breed and grow microorganisms
Muffle Furnace used to heat materials to high temperatures of 2000 degrees Fahrenheit
Mortar and Pestle a vessel used to grind substances into a powder or paste
Erlenmeyer Flask a cone shaped flat bottomed container with a narrow neck used in labs for holding liquids
Volumetric Flask a long necked container with a flat bottomed bulb, used to hold a specific volume at the neck mark
Beaker cylindrical container with a flat bottom and a small spout for pouring liquid
Graduated Cylinder measures the volume of a liquid, long cylindrical tube with a small spout at the top with marked measurements
