Mean Average- Add all # up, then divide
Median Middle Point in a data set
Longitudinal Study researchers repeatedly examine the same individuals to detect any changes that might occur over a period of time.
Cross Sectional Study research that involves different groups of people who do not share the same variable of interest (like the variable you're focusing on) but who do share other relevant variables.
Discrpitive Data examples in a research study include the mean, median, and mode. accurately summarize and describe samples of data.
Longitudinal Data researchers repeatedly examine the same individuals to detect any changes that might occur over a period of time.
Survey Study study in which a group of participants is selected from a population and data about or opinions from those participants are collected, measured, and analyzed.
Case Study a thorough study of a single person, community or event that relies on observations, facts and experiments to gather information.
Random Selection everyone in the group stands an equal chance of being chosen to minimize any bias.
Assigment Selection to assign subjects to groups. Using random methods, subjects are assigned to either an experimental group, which will receive an experimental treatment and be observed, or the control group, which is observed under normal, non-experimental conditions.
Experiment Study involves the manipulation of an independent variable, the measurement of a dependent variable, and the exposure of various participants to one or more of the conditions being studied.
Correlational Study a type of research design that looks at the relationships between two or more variables.
Double Blind one in which neither the participants nor the experimenters know who is receiving a particular treatment.
Single Blind patients do not know which study group they are in
