How were women influential? As women have in nearly all societies dependent on time, Advisors, Occasionally regents or rulers.
Who were the nomadic religious leaders? Shamans center paganism (Nature based)
Turkish Nomads converted to what religions after trading with settled people. Turkish Nomads became interested in Buddhism, Nestorian Christianity, Islam, Manichaeism from sixth century C.E.

Details about Anatolia: Seljuq turks had a large-scale invasion on Anatolia. Took Byzantine emperor captive. Peasants resented byzantine leaders so they seem to view them as liberators rather than conquerors.
