Africa The Dark Continent, it's called that because it's not understood and it cannot be civilized by itself or be control its environment
Native A racist term meant to say human beings aren't capable of having logical structure or become modern
Tribe A group built from original ties
Imperialism Government officials taking control over resources in other territories
Liberal Reform Authority enforcing change to make sure things are done fairly
Social Death To have no ground or authority to voice there opinion
Justice An ideology addressing inequalities or unfairness that impacts the community
Oracle An individual with a special access to God using it to predict the future and guide individuals and societies and act as a voice of God
Moral Tale A story display what is right or wrong in a society and what they value
Religious Experimentation Using multiple religions to come to a preferred outcome for both parties to enjoy
Egwugu Important men who were responsible for summoning ancestors to govern their society
Exile The process that sends individuals out of their communities so that they experience social death, punishing those who violate the societies norms
Matrilineal When an individuals decent comes from their mother's ancestors
Conversion The change of one religion to another
Missionaries Christians who believe that their mission is to spread Christianity to the people

Colonial Glaze Colonial officials defining the communities and societies that they visit and govern
Prison A way to punish or rehabilitate individuals who have violated community standards
Feasts A way to distribute resources that keeps community connections and displays wealth and community standards

Slavery A distinction between Old World and Racial Chattel Slavery having more to do with the political, cultural, or religious situation of the person

Dress A way someone performs or announces their identity
Histography A way to practice history, like examining sources, summarize experiences, and synthesizing evidence
Serfdom where a peasant is stuck on the land that they work on even though they do not own any of the land
Raw Materials resources like sugar and cotton that went form the New World to Europe and changed the culture of European markets
The Factory Where workers are labored in the same place to produce a finished product
Fascism A political ideology that pushes authoritarian political ideology and forcible suppression of opposition
Benito Mussolini Fascist leader of Italy, he created the fascist ideas
Mein Kampf Hitler's semi auto biographical writings, written in prison, outlining his plans, opinions and ideology
Westernization A view that the only way to be successful economically is to copy the Western education
Decolonization Where colonized counties gain their political independence, Degree of Independence varies between colonies
Stooped Down When a place being colonized is seen as superior so they copy it
Socialism Where espouses control production and that results in an even amount of labor and distribution of resources
Ideological Imperialism Fundamentalist religious beliefs replacing political control
Cold War Situation between the US and USSR between 1946-1991 through proxy wars
Public Memory How an event is understood to society so it can be connected the present
Globalization An increase in similarities in culture, economic systems and politics
Water product that became more important in the century
Agro-imperialism A country expanding into another controlling their supply of food
Corporation A legal individual that has a powerful impact that goes beyond economics
Neo-Liberalism A idea that has free strategy, balanced budgets, free trade and minimal government intervention in the economy
