Coriolis effect circulating air is deflected toward the right in the Northern Hemisphere and toward the left in the Southern Hemisphere.
Trade Winds winds that reliably blow east to west just north and south of the equator.
Prevailing westerlies prevailing winds from the west toward the east in the middle latitudes between 30 and 60 degrees latitude.
Polar easterlies dry and cold prevailing winds that blow from the east.
Land breeze a breeze blowing usually at night toward the sea from the more rapidly cooling land.
Sea breeze a breeze blowing toward the land from the sea, especially during the day owing to the relative warmth of the land.
barometer A weather instrument that measures air pressure
Air pressure the weight of air pushing on everything around it.
Low Pressure A mass of warm moist air that bring stormy weather caused by a drop in air pressure followed by colder weather.
EL Nino a warming of the ocean surface, or above-average sea surface temperatures, in the central and eastern tropical Pacific Ocean.
