What is arguably the “racist” reason that these two areas of non-white nations were referred to as the “Near” and “Far” East? Eurocentrism: Europe was considered the center of the world, and regions were named relative to their proximity to Europe.

Is the term “Middle East” an accurate or inaccurate term? why? No. Because it doesn't accurately describe the geography or culture of the region.
